READING: Psalm 121:1-8 πŸ‘‰πŸ“–

VERSE OF THE DAY: Psalm 121:4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep.😴

BACKGROUND: This is a song of ascent. The Israeli pilgrims sang this Psalm as they ascended towards the Holy temple in Jerusalem. πŸ•

INTERPRETATION: This is a song to the keeper of Israel. The psalmist expressed his total assurance in the protection provided by Yehovah God of Israel. He compared God to a faithful, vigilant and mighty soldier who while on duty never goes into slumber. πŸ˜ͺ

APPLICATION: We humans need rest to function properly. If someone doesn’t have adequate sleep will become sick quickly. Our God doesn’t need that kind of rest. We have not been told about how God rests, but definitely he does rest. (Genesis 2:2) πŸ›Œ Therefore rejoice that your keeper never slips into slumber.

LESSONS:(1) God is the guardian of your soul, (2) Our God is never tired of watching over us, (3)He is always attentive to our needs. ⚠️

ILLUSTRATION: On few occasions when the guards are sleeping or distracted at that point the robbersπŸ‘Ώ can sneak in and cause damage. But our God is watchingπŸ‘οΈπŸ‘οΈ over us continuously. How blessed it is to know and trust in this truth.

PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for watching over my soul. Thank you for not going into slumber nor sleep. I am assured that you are always awake to listen to my cry. I thank you in Jesus name. Shalom.πŸ•ŠοΈ Have a great day ahead my dear friend. Thanks for reading. Please feel free to give your valuable inputs to improve Bytes. Thanks.πŸ™‡πŸ‘ΌπŸ™πŸ›βοΈ
