“THE REAL TREASURE”๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰๐Ÿ’Ž

๐Ÿ“–Bible Bytes๐Ÿ’ป for you๐Ÿ›’

[Simplifying the scripture one thought at a time]

Recommended reading:

Psalm 119:9-16 ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ๐Ÿ“œ

Today’s scripture quote:

Psalm 119:11 “Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.”

Setting the stage:

The best phase of life is period of youthfulness. Along with youthful days come strong passions๐Ÿ”ฅ towards things which are not approved by God. At times we become victims of those temptations and fall into sin.๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฅ€ Then comes the guilt feelings. God desires to save us from such painful feelings. Today’s scripture reading will guide us how to avoid falling in sin.

Interpretation:

Our heartsโ™ฅ๏ธ are never empty. They are full of so many things. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.” (Matthew 15:19) How can we get rid of these things. The only way is to replace it with something far better. The most wonderful replacement is the “WORD OF GOD“.๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ The psalmist decided to store God’s word in his heartโ™ฅ๏ธ so that he could avoid committing sin against God.

Lessons learnt:

(1) Treasure God’s words in your heart,โ™ฅ๏ธ
(2) God’s words will help you to prevent sin.

Application:

What are you treasuring in your heart?โ™ฅ๏ธ Today once again God is encouraging๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ us to pay attention to his powerful word.๐Ÿ“œ May God enable us not to neglect his word rather meditate on it as and when possible.

Illustration:

When Lord Jesus was tested by Satan๐Ÿ˜ˆ, he had only one answer to all his temptations. That answer was, “it is written.” ๐Ÿ“(Matthew 4:4,7,10) What will you reply to the tempter when he attacks you with a strong temptation? May we learn to use the word of God๐Ÿ“œ to its maximum potential.

Prayer for today:

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for this wonderful day. I am also thankful for your eternal words of wisdom. Help me Lord to meditate on your words more. Help me to treasure your words in my heart. โ™ฅ๏ธ I pray in your sweet name. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ›
