The everlasting beauty

We all like beautiful people. Everyone aspires to be more beautiful. When someone calls us, “hey beautiful”, we are so excited.๐Ÿ˜š Today there are so many products available in the market to enhance our external beauty. There are soaps, creams, injections, surgeries, etc to improve external appearance.

There is an immense pressure on all of us from our peers, family members, friends and world to appear more adorable. Unknowingly we are in pushed into beauty contest. We are eager to know whether we look better than someone else.

Such kind of comparison is an unhealthy competition. There is also danger of developing low self-esteem. This could also be attributed to discouragement in many people.

When I was a small child, people would make remarks about my nose and mouth. The size and shape of my nose and mouth was different from the rest of my family members. People would express displeasure towards my external features. It made me feel very sad. I began blaming myself for my appearances. I would look into the mirror and wished that it would be so nice if my nose and mouth would look better.

Gradually I began to grow and my nose grew and today I feel that I am no less handsome than any other man.

Psalm 139:14I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

This verse brought great sense of relief to me. I had revelation that God has made me wonderfully. I am God’s beautiful masterpiece.

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

All of us should make every effort to look as good as possible. There is nothing wrong to look the best. External beauty becomes problematic when it takes priority over inner beauty. (Matthew 23:27)

1 Peter 3:3-4 Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

Beautiful apparel and other accessories do help in improving external beauty. There is another beauty which is more precious in the sight of the Lord. That is the internal beauty of heart. The ornaments which can decorate our hearts are gentleness and peaceful spirit. There is nothing available in the market to improve internal beauty. Only God can grant us that beauty. The external beauty is visible to everyone however the internal beauty is hidden and is visible only to God.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord , that he might be glorified.

God promise to give beauty in exchange of ashes. Dear friend, you already beautiful externally, let us now examine interiors. Let us continually adorn our hearts with gentle and quiet spirit. Let us go to our Lord Jesus to help us to be beautiful in his sight.

I pray that the Lord Jesus will bless you with these words. ๐Ÿ˜€โ™ฅ๏ธShalom. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
