Unwanted thorns
What good are thorns for? No one likes thorns! We love roses,🌹 except for the thorns. But in real life roses🌹 always come along with thorns.
Purposeful thorns
Thorns have a definite purpose. You can’t have a rose🌹 without having to go through thorn pricks.
Paul’s thorn
Now I would like to draw your kind attention my today’s thought. Kindly read apostle Paul’s words.
2 Corinthians 12:7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me-to keep me from exalting myself!
I am sure you must have heard many sermons or done personal study on this section of scripture.
Paul’s revelations
Paul was given many great supernatural revelations. He was in danger of being puffed up with pride because of these spiritual visions. Along with these supernatural visions he was given a “thorn in the flesh” to keep his pride under control.
Unknown thorn
Nobody knows what was the nature of this thorn whether actual thorn or a physical infirmity. Whatever it was, it might have caused lot of inconvenience to Paul.
2 Corinthians 12:8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.
Remedy for thorn
As a remedy, Paul approached physician of physicians. He prayed fervently and repeatedly. He was given surprising answer to his prayer.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
Grace is the answer for thorn
Lord Jesus Christ told him, “My grace is sufficient.” Paul understood that Power of Jesus Christ would be manifested manifold through his own weaknesses. Power of Christ resides in weak people.
What is Your thorn/s?
I don’t know what weaknesses you are struggling with. Take Jesus at his word. He is saying same thing to you. His grace is sufficient. His power will be manifested through your weaknesses.
Thorn: A Blessing
So be joyful even though your problems are not yet resolved completely. It may be a thorn in the flesh. A blessing in disguise. 😀🙋♂️❤️🌺
Sending you with lots of love and blessings. Shalom 🕊️😇

Never thought about it that way. Interesting.
