Hi everyone.👋 Welcome to the Daily Bible bytes.🙏
Today I am going to share my thoughts on two scripture quotes from the Bible which appears to contradict each other! 😰 But they aren’t. 😀✋
1 John 2:15 NASBS
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
This👆 appears like a very strange commandment. Do not love the world.😰 We are living in the world. How can we avoid loving our place.
The Greek word for World is cosmos. The world and it’s people and everything in it is so much important. God himself created what is visible and invisible. How in the world can we hate it? 😰
On the contrary, there is this another world famous scripture quote.
John 3:16 NASBS
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Another strange thing
This is also strange. In the previous scripture it is written not to love and in subsequent scripture God is loving the world.😰😀
What a dilemma!😊
What is exactly God is saying to us? Allow me to share my thoughts.😊🙏
Evidence of love
God loves the world. The proof of this love is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God loves us immensely and therefore he didn’t spare his own son when we required him.
God is not telling us to hate the world rather he is cautioning us to stay away from the corruption in the world due to sin. This is a mouthful sentence.
1 John 2:16 NASBS
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
Lust and pride
These 👆 are the things which could corrupts a person. This is the ugly side of the world which we are cautioned to shun. So we are not to be friendly with these kind of lusts.
Otherwise God himself commanded to love everyone in the world.
In the conclusion: love the people of the world but don’t love the things that cause spiritual corruption.
May the Lord bless you all with these words of encouragement.
This is Bible blogger. Shalom 😊🕊️
