We love blessing

We all love blessings. Blessings bring lot of satisfaction to us.

Meaning of blessing

Often, I wonder about, what is the meaning of blessing? The Oxford dictionary has this meaning for blessing: God’s favour and protection. So blessings are intrinsically connected to faith in God. If someone has faith in God, he has a greater value for blessings. Anyone doesn’t have faith, doesn’t care about blessings. They are merely good words, nothing more.

More blessings

For those who believe in blessings, seek blessings from different sources. We feel, that if we receive plenty blessings we will be more happy.

Coveting blessings

We pray for more blessings. We repeatedly as God to bless us and our loved ones. We request others to bless us in prayers. So, acquiring blessings from others becomes one of our goals.

Receiving blessings

We believe that receiving blessing is more important than giving. God thinks exactly opposite to our views. God is not only interested in blessing us but he wants to go one step ahead. Before I explain further, let us read a line from the Bible.

Genesis 12:2 NASBS
And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;

Abraham’s blessing

This is how God blessed Abraham, the forefather of nations. God not only said that he will bless you, God said to Abraham that “you shall be a blessing.” I love this last portion.

Be a blessing

What a cool thing it is to be a blessing to someone. This is a potential everyone has inherited in Christ. God can use you to bless others. Has anyone came and told you that you have been a great blessing to them? If your answer is yes then I would like to congratulate you. The word of God has become true in your life.

Blessing in disguise

We have to think about this on daily basis. Am I a blessing to someone? You should continuously be a blessing in disguise. Sorry to say that many people are not blessing but have become source of great sorrow.

So I would like to encourage you to pray to God, tell him to make you a blessing. Ask for Abraham’s blessing.

May the good Lord make you a blessing to billions. I pray in Jesus name.
