Hi dear friends๐
Welcome back to Our Daily Bible bytes.๐๐
I am going to narrate another story. Are you ready?๐ฃ๏ธ๐ This is another story I learnt from my mentor. Here we go……
“There were two men in a particular town. Their names were Tom and Jerry. They were working in the same factory. Tom was a pious person. He would never hurt anyone. He would be very careful about how he treated other people.
Jerry was equally a good person except that he couldn’t keep any secrets. Once someone shared some bad things about Tom with Jerry. There was no truth in it. Jerry couldn’t keep it to himself. He shared it with someone else. He warned that person not to share it with anyone else.
That person shared it with someone else. In this manner the matter was spread across with everyone. It brought lot of disrepute to Tom. Ultimately Tom got the news that Jerry is spoiling his name.
Tom was very sensitive and he took it to his heart. As a result he fell sick. He had to be hospitalized. Jerry was informed that Tom is not keeping well and admitted to hospital. Jerry felt very sorry. Immediately, he decided to visit Tom at the hospital.
Jerry asked what happened to Tom. Tom told him about this gossip going around his back. Jerry was convicted in his heart. Jerry asked Tom to pardon him. Tom said that he was willing to pardon him if he could do a favour for him.
Jerry was more than happy to help Tom. Tom gave him a pillow made of feathers. He requested Jerry to go to an open space and empty it and bring back the empty cover. Jerry didn’t want to waste any time. He hurried to the open field and he emptied the pillow and brought back to empty cover. He joyfully presented the empty cover to Tom. He was very sure that Tom will be very happy to see the empty cover.
Tom saw the empty cover and was extremely grateful to Jerry. He asked for another favour. Jerry was excited. He said you ask me anything and I will definitely do it for you. Tom said, “please take this empty cover of the pillow and gather all the feathers you emptied in the open space.”
Jerry was stunned. He expressed his helplessness. He said, “Tom, this is a ridiculous. How will I be able to gather something that is already scattered? All the feathers are gone with the wind.”
Tom said, “Jerry, similarly can you bring back my reputation which you have damaged by gossips.” Jerry was filled with lot of regrets because he inadvertently hurt Tom. Ultimately Tom forgave Jerry because he realized his mistake. They ultimately became great friends once again.”
Similarly dear friends let us not gossip about anyone else. God hates gossip. Let us hate gossip. Gossip is equal to half murder.๐ฒ
Proverbs 11:13 TPT
You can’t trust gossipers with a secret; they’ll just go blab it all. Put your confidence instead in a trusted friend, for he will be faithful to keep it in confidence.
God bless you with these words.
With love and blessings.

Oh mine, this story is so inspiring. And every thing you’ve said here is absolutely the truth! God help us to never keep gossipers as friends.

Thanks dear doc. I was not referring to gossiper friends rather we shouldn’t gossip ourselves. ๐๐๐น

I got the message tho. I was only trying to point out that if there is no one to gossip with, then we won’t be able to gossip ourselves. Like the Bible said that two cannot walk together except they agree.

Well said. I was making doubly sure that I am not misunderstood. I am in no way promoting hatred towards gossipers. Thanks for sharing your valuable thoughts. God bless.

My sister used to be like that. You couldn’t trust her with ANYTHING you didn’t want someone else to know!
