The importance of return?↩️

Luke 17:15-16 NASBS
Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, [16] and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan.

This is the most frequently quoted story of 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus. Nine of those who got healed decided to go to their houses. Only one of them realised that Jesus Christ has healed him. He returned to express his gratitude.

The other nine missed their opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and to offer thanksgiving. They received their healing but couldn’t give glory to God.

But the one who returned was a samaritan. Samaritans are the rejected community. Jews have no dealings with this community. But this samaritan was not an ungrateful fellow. His heart caused him to return back to Jesus.

He not only received the physical healing but when he came back he received spiritual healing as well.

Luke 17:17-19 NASBS
Then Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine-where are they? [18] Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?” [19] And He said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has made you well.”

This foreigner received faith and Jesus commented that his faith in Christ Jesus has facilitated the healing process.

Dear friend, are you having any health issues? You have a choice to go to Jesus Christ in prayers. He may heal you if it is his will. Don’t forget to return to give glory to God through Jesus Christ.

May God bless you through these words of encouragement.

Shalom 🕊️
