Growing from being churched to being a church.

Church goer

There are many people who are very nice church goes. They attend every Sunday service religiously. I consider myself as a church going Christian. It’s a good spiritual exercise.

Boring church

Many people are going to the church and often find church as a boring place. The church folk remains same from Sunday to Sunday. Same things are being repeated in a monotonous fashion.

Funeral service

The younger generation find it more aversive experience. Many churches have mastered the skill to make service as serious as possible. It resembles to a funeral service.

Churched member

In this bargain some people continue to remain only as a churched members. They are in the church but not the church. They are physically present but spiritualy feel lost. They are not able to make any contribution to the church. The gradually develop spiritual dissatisfaction. They feel sidetracked. But the call to every Christian is not to be “churched” but to be the “church.”

The church of Jesus

The church of Jesus Christ is compared to a body. Christ is the head and the church members are the body. The church without Christ is a headless body. The church without members is a head with missing body.

You are the “church”

The church members grow without the realisation that they are the “church.” Yes, you are the church. They have a wrong perception that church is a building or any physical structure.

Authority is part of church

Some people feel that church means the church authority or leadership. That’s wrong. The church authority is a part of church as any ordinary members. The church authority has a great responsibility to look after the well being of fellow members

Integral part

The church authority is not the boss of the church but they are the local team leader. The real Boss is Jesus Christ. May God help each church goer to realise that he is the integral part of the church.

Your worth

Imagine that each member understands his value that he is the important part of the local church, do you believe he will ever think of leaving that church? He won’t, I bet.

You are valuable

Dear friend, don’t get discouraged when people Stop valuing you. You are always valued and respected in the church. You are an important member whom Jesus Christ loves immensely. He died for you. Don’t be discouraged if the leadership fails to value you or fail to show their love and support.
