It’s a matter of choice! 🤔

Our lives

What is life in a nutshell? I feel life is nothing but a sum total of different choices that we make on day today basis. At every juncture we have to be selective about everything. A wrong choice can land us in bad situation.

Example

For example, Choosing a good understanding partner will make life beautiful whereas a wrong alliance will be the root cause of many problems.

Influencers

Often, our decisions are influenced by so many factors. Young age, education, parents, friends can definitely have some amount of impact on our choices.

The U-turn

Sometimes it is possible to reverse our decisions if we realise early enough to take the corrective actions. If we have gone too far to turn back then it is impossible to get back to the right track.

God is faithful

Dear friends, I have already shared from my life how I was saved from wrong decisions. God is faithful, he didn’t allow me to make the wrong choices. He always slammed the wrong doors and didn’t allow the right door to shut down even though I never deserved it.

The family

For today’s meditation on the scripture, we are going visit the house of two sisters and one brother. You guessed it precisely. Yes, I am referring to Martha, Mary and Lazarus.

The right choice

Jesus Christ visited this family. While, Jesus was teaching and Mary was sitting at the feet of the Lord Jesus and listening to the good news about the kingdom of God.

The difficult choice

Martha decided to cook delicious food for the guest for the day, Jesus Christ. Martha had a great plan to make great food for their beloved Rabbi. Martha got overwhelmed by the cooking process as she was trying to manage all alone.

The grumbling

She began to grumble that her sister was just sitting idle whereas she is struggling. Jesus Christ had pity on her. Jesus Christ answered to her……

Luke 10:41-42 NASBS
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; [42] but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

The necessary

Jesus Christ was saying to Martha, that she was equally had opportunity to choose to sit along with her sister to listen. That would have helped her a lot. That was something necessary for that day. Mary chose to sit at the feet of the Lord. This choice was a better choice.

The Conclusion

Dear friends, we get confused about what to choose when we encounter multiple choices. May the Lord of mercy be your guide to help you to make the right choice. You have privilege to take the matter to the Lord. You can also get some guidance from a senior spiritual person to help you to understand the pros and cons. The Lord has ability to undo whenever we fail.
