Is anything wrong with human heart?

Human heart is the most important organ and without it we can’t survive.

The quick facts about the heart will help you to appreciate our hearts. The size of a human heart is as large as a fist. ✊ It weighs approximately between 230-340 grams. It beats 100000 times a day.

Adult heart beats at 60-80 beats per minute. Newborn’s heart beats between 70-190 beats per minute. Heart pumps 5.7 litres of blood throughout the body. Source Heart disease is the number 1 killer around the world. (WHO)

Similarly we have another invisible heart. That’s the seat of our emotions. We think with our minds but act according to our hearts. We hear the frequent phrase, “listen to your heart.” This heart is actually our own inner voice.

Genesis 6:5 NASBS
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

God can see this invisible heart with his invisible eyes. God can read our thoughts and intentions of our hearts loudly before we utter or act upon them. God can search hearts.

Matthew 15:19 NASBS
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.

Our hearts can be filled with these things. God doesn’t want these things in our hearts. He wants to cleanse our hearts.

Ezekiel 36:26 NASBS
Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

God wants to change our hearts. He wants to remove the hardness and give us a sensible and responsible new heart. A Heart that will respond to God.

Jesus’s heart was rent to bring healing to our troubled hearts. May the Lord help us to bring the desired changes to our hearts. Make us people after his own heart.

1 Samuel 13:14 NASBS
The LORD has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart,

Be blessed.
